The year setting is seventeen eighty five, only twenty years after Pokemon had become originally famous with many people who thrived with them. Many never knew how these creatures, having been so terrifying and frightening before, could become one's friend's and aid them on the most difficult and strangest of ways. Through building, searching, making new travels, and, in the most recent of discoveries, fighting against one another. It seemed so different now than it was back then, as many elders recall it when they are telling stories to their younger counter parts. Who would have know, many would still say as they sit by the fire.

Just recently, a few minors rough housing near a large quarry found a strange stone when one of their Pokemon companions blasted parts of the rocks open. The strange gem was purple, and very shining. They thought nothing of it at first, until they brought it up to one of their Pokemon, and the beast began behaving strangely, cowering down and becoming more still than it normally was. Instantly the stone was taken to Professor Ikazuchi, a man of wisdom of the strange creatures that lived in their world. He soon found out that, when created into spherical orbs, could contain a single Pokemon inside, instead of one having to watch all over theirs at once while they ran around aimlessly.

Soon, places called gyms started opening up, people with stronger Pokemon than usual leading them. People called breeders and trainers came around, many challenging these places to win an item called a badge. Places called Pokemon Centers have popped up as well, saying that they will be able to heal your injured Pokemon for no fee, and it is very simple with their strange medicine. Bonds are being built, cities made, battles won and lost. A strange region, the beginner region, you may call it as to read this.
